1) What is American Kenpo Karate and what is the difference between this and other systems of Martial Arts?    

American Kenpo Karate is a progressive mixed martial arts developed by Ed Parker. It is a self-defense system based upon logic versus tradition.

2) Do you just teach karate? 

No. We have a well-rounded system of self-defense, incorporating many different disciplines into our ecclectic system.

3)  Can my 4 year old learn karate?

We have students starting from 4 years old up to their late 60's.

4)  Am I too old to take karate?

No, today will be the youngest day that you could ever start.

5)  What does it cost?

Your investment will vary depending upon the type of classes in which you enroll; group, private or both.   We have month to month and semester programs.

6)  When are you open?

We are a full-time school offering both daytime and evening classes.

7)  How often can you train or take classes?

While most people come 2-3 times per week. At our school you are encouraged to attend as often as your schedule allows.

8)  Do I need to be in shape before I begin?

No. As you train, your conditioning will improve. Each individual is different and we would like you to gradually improve your physical conditioning through consistent attendance in class.

9)  Are you a franchise?

No, in fact, many of our instructors began at BWKS as children and continue to be in service at our school.

10)  How long have you been in business? 

We have been in Costa Mesa for more than 30 years and Mr. White has been teaching here in Orange County for over 40 years.
